The Lucky Shots!

Ian had such a good time blowing the shamrocks so I had to collage some of my other favorites so that I could share them. Ian is typically willing to try anything I ask him. We had several outtakes and he picked up the shamrock-fetti without complaint each time. He's such a sweet kid!

show {off} your shot

I haven't linked up to show {off} your shot for a while, but thought I would link up this week. I took this photo of Aaron at the park the other day before my whole side took off to MRSA land and blah blah blah...

I love this shot! It is so him. He was irritated that we were continuing on our little nature walk because he wanted to rest so he laid his blond little head on the red bench. And just look at those baby blues. It's pretty hard to say no to that sort of cuteness, but he managed to comply when it was time to move on.

and then, she {snapped}

For the edit, I rotated slightly and cropped.  I then ran the Pretty Preset called Blazing Star and decreased the exposure.  Lightroom makes quit editing so quick.  I really love it and use it for the majority of my editing.  It stream lines my process and I can edit a full shoot in very little time compared to PSE.  I do use PSE for the photos that need more technical tweaking.

Joy Of Love Day 23

Facebook photo. So this obviously isn't my photo, nor was I even there to celebrate that day. I took this photo off my mom's page because it makes me smile. These are my 20 year old parents on their wedding day December 22, 1973. Of course, they weren't my parents yet. There was a blizzard that day from what I have been told. Some of the wedding party didn't even make it to the ceremony and my parents didn't make it on their honeymoon. But here we are 37 years+ later and they are still happily married. (I surprised them about 10 months later in October.)

Days 54/55

Day 54: My day yesterday was such a blur. I did remember to snap this before the 24 hour period elasped, but you can tell it was just snapped and done. My body really was just out of it. These are clindamycin 150mg capsules for those that are curious. Just antibiotics, nothing too exciting there. I look at pills all day long on the days that I work and there are some pretty intriguing color combos. These actually fall into the interesting category. For those that like me to talk all nerdy and pharmaceutical, clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic. It will cover anaerobic bacteria, but also has coverage for MRSA (aerobic) which is what I am being treated for. It has bacteriostatic properties which means it inhibits bacterial growth vs being bactericidal which actually kills bacteria. I won't go into how it does it because it gets way too technical and I'd have to look it up. I am taking a hefty dose so my biggest chance for a side effect is diarrhea due to C. diff so I am taking probiotics to prevent that from happening. So there you have it, Day 54 a day late being posted.

Day 55: A lovely gesture from a couple that are friends of mine here in Special K. They knew that I'd been very ill and sent this over this evening. I'm thankful for the fruit, but more thankful to have such great friends!

Shoot And Edit- Week 7 Verson 2

So since I really didn't like my flower photo, I went back and found a SOOC shot from a photo shoot I did recently of little Sammie. She is such a little doll. Since the theme was pink, I found one of her sporting just that. I then was able to follow Ashley's step by step and th en added a crop and voila. I'm much happier with this!

Shoot & Edit Week 7

Okay, so I'll be honest. I hate my photo. I hate all of them. But I don't have much pink so this is what I ended up shooting. And I'm too sick to go searching for a redo.

I took on the first one by doing a basic edit, fixing a bit of the white balance and playing with curves. I decided I liked it better a little saturated so I ran with that.

The second edit I decided to crop to 5x5 and then run FLUFF & STUFF action messing with the opacities. It is probably the truest to what the flower looks like in real life.

The third edit, I ran Florida action by Everyday Elements after cropping to 5x5 though I decided to do a tighter crop.

Like I said, not thrilled with any of them.
