Shoot and Edit

A little short on time today since I need to get an hour south for another "fun" derm appt and then will spend the afternoon and early evening administering flu shots (yes, it's FEB. What are these crazy people thinking?).

So I followed along with the tutorial and found the Curves function and downloaded it. I then did the curves adjustment and darkened my darks and brought my highlights up a bit. I cropped my image, ran M4H baby's breath and then tried to eliminate a bit of the shadow on the cabinet. I was in a hurry so it's not perfect. I need to work on it a bit more, but you can see it's drastically improved.

Joy of Love- Dreams Repeat

So yesterday, I told you about my son's desire to be an entomologist and told you there were no bugs to be found. Well today, of course after I post yesterday that we didn't find any bugs, Ian spots his little friendly lady bug at the park. So I got down and tried to photograph the quite fast moving little bug and capture her essense. This is what I got. The playground has multicolored "rubber tire" type turf so that's why the background changes so drastically.

Joy Of Love- Day 14 Rings

These are my engagement ring and wedding bands along with my husband's band. His is pretty beat up from his Army lifestyle so it lacks the lustre it used to have. He faithfully wears it every day.

I found that taking photos of jewelry is challenging. I admit to not trying super hard on some of the shots for this Joy of Love course, but really wanted to get "that shot" for this assignment.

Nikon D90/  85mm lens
1/100s f/4  1.19 meters from subject.  Manual mode.  I did use a flash but bounced it off the ceiling with a Light Scoop.

Shoot & Edit - Week 6

My dear husband brought me yellow and red roses for Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, daylight was all gone when he finally got home so I had to use a flash and thus the ugly shadows. :( Oh well, guess I have some editing to do, eh?

Today's Mimic Monday I saw on the lovely blog  Birds Eye View Photography She had done these lovely heart lights. Her's are way better than mine so please go take a look! Took the kids to the park this afternoon. It was so nice out today. Amazing how cold it was just 3 days ago and now sunny and near 70. The kids got to run out some energy and I spent my time snapping pics. Here were a few of my favorites. Now just to decide which one I want to use for my official pic. I'm thinking the last one.

Joy Of Love Day 11 and 12- Dreams and Eyes

Day 11 is dreams. This is my son. He says he wants to be an entymologist when he grows up. No bugs were available so we settled on another of his favorite pieces of nature.






Day 12- Eyes. He also has some of the prettiest blue eyes I have ever seen.
