Bloomin' Temple Festival

 
 
 
 


We had some free time this evening so we met up with our friends at the Bloomin' Temple Festival. It was chalk full of "nickel and dime you to death" traps, but the kids really enjoyed it. Aaron was in a particularly ornery mood even though he really couldn't do much. It was way too crowded to let him out of the stroller. He had fun interacting with his buddy Tiffany and making faces at me. Ian loved the rides! We actually played a game and won a goldfish. So they gave us a ticket to come back for our fish when we were ready to leave. Ian wouldn't stop talking about that darn fish. The whole time he kept asking about his fish. So finally it was time to go home so we stopped to get our fish only to find out that they were temporarily out. So the lady looked at me and said, I'll give you a stuffed Nemo instead. And I was like OH YESSS! PLEASE! So no fish bowl for us! YAY!! And Ian was happy with his fish!

 
 
 
 

Little Chefs

 
 
 
 


Today we hosted a playdate and called it Little Chefs. The kids thought it was a hoot. They had aprons and chefs hats to wear and then helped to assemble their own lunch as well as their mom's lunch. We made spaghetti pies. Once we got them ready, we put them in the oven and made chocolate dippers to have for dessert. The kids really enjoyed both activities and got to then eat the fruits of their labor.

We won another house party from HouseParty.com and it was sponsored by Nabisco 100 Calorie packs. It came with 8 boxes of 100 calorie snack packs: 1/2 were mint chocolate and the other half were chocolate fudge. The pack also had 16 mini martini glasses to serve the snacks in, coupons and magnet picture frames. My friend Crystal also had won a house party from Stouffers so we combined efforts. She had won sub sandwiches and so she had those. Her pack also had coupons and shopping bags to hand out. So we had quite a party.

Bluebonnets 2010

 

My wonderful photographer friend, Susan Steen took photos of my boys in the bluebonnets which is a Texas tradition. I sometimes get a little down in the mouth about Texas, but this is one thing that I know when move away from here that I will really miss. These fragrant beauties just make me smile. And they are so gorgeous along the sides of the roads and in the fields. The little hints of red are another native wildflower called an Indian paintbrush. They are really pretty, too. Ian actually likes them better since they are his favorite color, but he loves all flowers and really enjoyed being in the bluebonnets. Aaron on the other hand gave 110% effort in the "I'm almost 21 months old and I'm not posing for you or anybody 'tude."

BU-TLE- R U a Bulldog?

 


Oh Yeah!!


I was supposed to go to Austin to a viewing party this evening. I was going to meet up with a college classmate and some other Bulldogs at an organized viewing site, but my babysitter bailed last minute. I'll admit that I am pretty disappointed to not get to go, but we made the most of it. So GO DAWGS! No matter what the scoreboard says at the end of the night, we are incredibly proud of you! I'm super proud to be an alumni from Butler University!

Praise the Lord, for HE IS RISEN! May you all be blessed on the Easter Sunday. The precious gift of eternal life is yours if only you ask.

Of course we had a little bunny, too, but we must remember the true meaning of Easter first.
 

The boys made out like bandits and were immediately gorging themselves on jelly beans. I foresee stomach aches. Ian loved his light up ball the most and Aaron seemed to really like the Cookie Monster and Elmo Kinex. They both like the Dora Hopscotch.
