Ice cream, kids and good old friends! Oh the memories and yummy to boot! Amy and Bryan's little boy, Christopher, is quite a cutie! He's 4 months older than Aaron. We had a good time getting dessert together!
I keep getting into trouble for calling some of my friends "old" friends. Because who's old? LOL But I count these girls and Larry as some of my truest and long time friends. I met Larry in preschool. I met Amy in kindergarten and Lisa in the 3rd grade. I can't remember when Shelly and I met, but I am sure we were pretty young. And along with good friends comes spouses and they become part of the clan, too! It was so great to see my long time friends at the Beef House, one of my long time favorite restaurants! Steaks, salads, and rolls! Anyone who has ever been there knows exactly what I speak of! And to share it with "old" friends was just almost as good as time standing still if even only for an hour or so!
Okay so my dad owns no park. He just happens to live across the street from one and the grandkids think that is is Papaw's park since my dad always gets "conned" into taking them over there. It is the same park and a lot of the same stuff that was there when I was a kid. There is some new stuff, too, but most importantly there is still a lot of good park fun to be had.
It is so rare that my parents, brother, niece, Bill, me and my kids are all together so it was picture time! My dad got out is TriPod and I set up my camera and well, we look just like US. LOL But we got a couple that were OK and they will have to do. It had been about 2 years since the opportunity for a group photo like this one so we are lucky to have gotten the chance to spend a couple of days all together.
The Home of 600 Happy People and a Few Old Soreheads!
Thursday afternoon we headed to my parents' house in Hillsboro. The kids were excited to see my mom and dad and we even made time to go see my Grandma Ellie (aka Grandma Jelly) and my Uncles Doug and Bradd. We also got to see my cousin, Kylie. Her twin sister was out on a date so we missed her. Kylie got suckered into pushing the wagon! LOL Good old fashioned fun!
On Wednesday morning, we had arranged to have photos taken at Butler University by a local photographer who is a friend of a friend. It was soooooo hot and the kids weren't uber cooperative, but the photos turned out really well. I had always wanted to get some photos done on campus and finally got them done 12 years after I graduated. Better late than never!
