Vacation is OVER. We had a great time and it was an enjoyable week away. I was glad to come home, but reality is starting to set in. BLAH
1. My vacuum is still in the shop. It's been in the shop since 5/6. Yes, we were gone for a week, but I am guessing I need to swallow my pride and borrow a vacuum from a friend.
2. Laundry. I think that's pretty self explanatory.
3. Grocery Shopping. I think I'd rather do twice the laundry than deal with this.
4. General feeling of grrrrr..... I'm feeling a wee bit frustrated I guess. Not with any one thing in particular, but many things combined.
a) Nothing work related since I seem to have worked that out to a degree though I'm frustrated that things have to be so bad there and I felt that I had to force my hand. It's all good. It's just figuring out my routine without that distraction.
b)Trying to figure out our place in certain circles. Having 2 of differing ages and abilities poses challenges sometimes. It's frustrating to sit on the sidelines for things that would be fun for the older one and not the younger and vice versa.
c) Needing to purge. Trying to purge. Then not following through. In lots of areas...
d) Need to find my "me time" again. Not sure how to throw that in the mix.
e) Finding a new balance with the hubs home. He's great. I love him dearly, but I need to figure out what roles he is going to fill mostly and figure out my place again, too.
If you happen to find my ZEN, can you send it back to me. LOL? I feel like I'm tightrope walking and there's a net, but I don't like heights and I hate the idea of falling and having to have someone else catch me.
Busy, busy, busy, busy, busy!

I'm feeling you on so many fronts. I just got back, too... no groceries in the house and two weeks' worth of laundry, and I start a new internship in the morning. *sigh*. It was so nice to get away, but darn if the reality of coming back isn't daunting.
ReplyDeleteI'll send you whatever zen I can muster!
Welcome back! I'm on my way out. :)
ReplyDeleteloved watching your trip here!
I really "going" with you on your trip through pictures! Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteThe kids and I have a routine for when it's just us and when the husband is at home for his days off, it throws everything off. (we love having him home, too.) This isn't nearly the same as what your family is adjusting to, but I thought I'd let you know you aren't alone! (hugs)
I'll bet you get back into your groove quickly. I imagine balancing life for two kids at different ages is difficult, but I'll bet it's WAY easier once they're both in school. The balance is so hard with one kid - I'm sure the balancing act with two is difficult, especially when you've gone for so long trying to deal with everything yourself and now your partner is back. But aren't they supposed to be there when you stumble off the tight rope? Everyone falls off that rope some time. Nets are awesome. Then you either get back on that tight rope or maybe go play with the lions for a while. LOL
