Bluebonnets along FM 243

So on our way back from Burnet we saw this quaint little country church along the side of the road with some beautiful bluebonnets. I had yet to get a decent photo of my boys together looking at the camera at the same time. So I had to try. I figured it was probably not going to happen because they were tired from the festival, but it was worth a shot or 50! LOL. And I'm so glad we stopped! The weather was overcast so we didn't have squinty eyes and both boys happened to be somewhat cooperative. I did at least get them looking and not crying. Of course this dissolved into ornery looks, but hey that's a little cute, too!

Burnet Bluebonnet Festival

Today we headed over to Burnet, The Bluebonnet Capital of Texas, for their yearly bluebonnet festival. We got there and the weather was drizzly, but we decided to brave it anyway. Our first stop was at Cowboy Church. We listened to some music and heard the sermon before heading over to meet our friends. We walked around and looked at the vendors before heading over to the rides and junk food alley! Ian and Tommy got unlimited wristbands and had a ball riding all the rides. They had helicopters and cars, roller coasters and lots of junk food stops. We ran into some other friends and the boys took the girls on a helicopter ride. TOO CUTE! One of twins said, "Hey Ian, you can fly me and my sister up in the helicopter!" Aaron mostly sat in the stroller. I felt a bit bad. That was two days in a row that he had to do that, but today he pretty much was happy to sit there and watch.

As we were walking out today, a sign caught my eye: Marshmallow shooters! Oh we just had to had one and Ian has been in heaven ever since! :)

No Joke! There IS at Least 1 Thing That I LIKE about Texas

BLUE BONNETS! In all honesty, the wild flowers here are gorgeous and the blue bonnets are especially so. I have always envied those ladies that I have known through the years that have had photos of their kids, themselves, whomever, etc taken in the Texas Blue Bonnets. Well I finally got my chance! I've met some new friends here in Texas and they were able to steer me to the correct spot and one of them even helped me out and took a few photos, too! (Thank you Stephanie Moody!)
