Can't Believe My Baby is 5

Ian turned 5 on November 6th so this post is a little belated, but I wanted to take his photos myself instead of dealing with a studio and had to wait until the weather was right and I had the time. So tonight after school we set off to the park to take his photos. He was fairly cooperative, but his little brother was a pistol. I was trying to capture a good one of the two of them, too. I got an okay shot, but nothing to write home about.

Anyway, back to Ian. I can't believe he's 5. 5 just sounds so old compared to 4. I know, I know. That sounds ridiculous, but 5 definitely doesn't give you thoughts of a baby at all. He's so independent now. He can read all the level one readers and can figure out so many things on his own now. He's got a wonderful rote memory and has excelled in school. He does really well behavior wise at school, too. I'm so proud of him. It's hard to believe that he came into this world a whole month early weighing only 5 pounds 4 ounces and never went to NICU. He's always been advanced. LOL. :) All kidding aside, this kid amazes me every day and I thank God for the opportunity to be his mother.

Happy Belated Birthday, Ian! I love you!

  1. I agree 5 does seem big! It breaks my heart that they are growing up so fast.
The pictures are fabulous! It is amazing once you take them so well yourself you just don't even see those studios as being worth it. :)

  2. Happy Belated Birthday Ian. When they turn 5, it seems like the are a little bigger. It is kind of heartbreaking. You are cherishing your moments with them and taking beautiful pictures as you go along.

Carla you have an amazing eye for photography. Do you like the class you are taking? I might take the next class she has to offer. I could sure use an experts insight.

I loved you Glee comments on my blog! I forgot about "Let's Get Physical." And yes, that Darren Criss is ADORABLE to look at. I got Mallory the Glee Karoke Wii game for Christmas. I am certain she will love it.
